TRIADOPTION® was formed as an information center in 1978 to gather and dispense data to assist adoptees, birthparents, siblings and others in locating family members. Based on the belief that adoption adds options and creates extended families, it seemed appropriate to support full disclosure to all involved parties, opening of all sealed records and assistance in acquiring everything pertinent to facilitating reunions and ongoing relationships.

For a decade, adoption reform movement newsletters were collected from over 500 organizations spread across North America and some around the world. Newspaper and magazine articles on search, reunion and related subjects were gathered. These collections were microfilmed. Today's technology allows each image to be digitized and made available online in a searchable format.

In addition, many astounding books came out in the 1970's and became out-of-print. TRIADOPTION® is working with authors and copyright holders to bring these important works back into circulation. They will be available at bookstores and online booksellers via print on demand and electronic publication. Directories and volume resources will be accessible in searchable files on this site and in some cases available on CD or DVD.

Currently a collection of VHS and audio recordings are being re-acquired and reviewed to see if they are still of adequate quality to put on this site for listening and viewing. If some or all of them meet the necessary standards, these will be an incredible way to see and hear many of the adoption reform movements original leaders, authors and speakers.

Everything here is available for viewing without charge in the original spirit of TRIADOPTION®  Library. However, we do ask that you respect that these all carry copyrights and cannot be reproduced or copied in any manner without prior written permission from the author(s), copyright holder(s) and/or this site.

TRIADOPTION was originally a physical location in Westminster, California with thousands of city and telephone directories, walls of bookshelves and filing cabinets, and support groups meeting each week. Today it is a virtual library of archived data made available here at no charge. In 1988, the directories were donated to Sherman Library in Corona Del Mar, other materials went to adoption movement organizations. The materials that were microfilmed are being made accessible on this site. Any group or individual wishing to donate historical or useful resources may contact us.
