MEMORIALS

Remembering those Who Helped with Adoption Search, Reunion & Reform

TRIADOPTION® Memorials consists of two categories. First, are biographies and retrospectives about the individuals who laid the foundation for adoption search, reunion and reform. These people were pioneers, often unsung hero's, and the spirits from which so much was created. They founded organizations, were authors, speakers, grass-roots givers, researchers, and most of all -- some of the most generous, caring souls imaginable. Most sacrificed much, worked from their kitchen tables, built ideas into reality (usually at their own expense), shared their vision and passion in ways that changed and uplifted the lives of those touched by adoption forever.

A personal note from Marri Jo Rillera TRIADOPTION founder: "I was blessed to have known most of these individuals. One of the most vital aspects of the early adoption reform decades, was that everyone 'agreed to disagree'. We worked diligently at finding common ground, and setting aside our differences, in order to help people reconnect with their families and to create an inclusive, healing community. This list will grow over time, as these special beings transition into other glorious service, and I just want everyone to know they are missed. Each gave beyond measure, in ways few will ever exactly identify, yet the results of their efforts live on -- especially in the hearts of those who knew them, their families and those influenced by them. Even though many may not know all these names, or the power of their work, there are few who have sought family connection who have not been graced by each one's unique presence on this planet. We should be grateful to them all!"

Second, we may add personal memorials for people wishing to write about their own loved ones who they miss, whether they found -- or longed to know them, but were deprived of that experience. This is meant to allow individuals to memorialize those they love whom they have lost within the adoption experience and community.
